Who’s Training
the Next Generation of APM Professionals?

TVA/MSAPMS Aquatic Plant Management Workshop
August 3–4, 2026
Location TBD | anticipated: Lake Guntersville State Park, Alabama

A 2-day, field-focused workshop designed to equip biologists, technicians, and resource managers with practical aquatic plant management knowledge — while reducing cost barriers to participation.

We are seeking $25,000+ in sponsorship support to help provide attendee access and expert instruction. Early sponsors receive priority speaking opportunities.

Overview

MSAPMS is planning a 2-day Aquatic Plant Management Workshop for professionals working directly in the field, including biologists, technicians, and resource managers.

This workshop is intended to build on the success of last year’s training effort by delivering practical education to professionals who may not typically be able to attend regional or national conferences. The emphasis is on applied knowledge, workforce development, and stronger connections among agencies, utilities, and industry partners.

Why This Workshop Matters

This program is designed to:

  • Introduce newer professionals to the broader aquatic plant management field
  • Deliver practical, field-ready training and technical updates
  • Provide CEUs for working practitioners
  • Strengthen professional networks across the region

This workshop is meant to complement the regular MSAPMS annual meeting workshop, not replace it. The focus here is on front-line staff, field application, and accessible training opportunities.

Sponsorship Goal

Our goal is to raise $25,000+ to help offset workshop costs so that attendees and invited subject matter experts can participate at little or no cost to themselves or their agencies.

This approach helps remove budget barriers and puts training directly into the hands of professionals responsible for on-the-ground aquatic plant management.

Why Sponsor

Sponsoring this workshop is a direct investment in:

  • Workforce development
  • Field-level implementation
  • Regional collaboration in aquatic plant management

Sponsors will receive recognition and meaningful opportunities to connect with attendees during breaks, meals, and networking events.

Early & high-level sponsors will receive priority placement for speaking opportunities and visibility.
